Deputy Minister Madiro Fingered in Odzi Mine Wrangle

Image
The Ministry of Mines and Mining Development which regulates and audits Mining Laws in Zimbabwe has the sole right of keeping everything under control and transparency to the excavators in the country. Any irregularities found within the framework will uncover the Office of the Provincial Directors of the Ministry of Mines who superintends over the whole Ministry's business. Small Scale miners consistently conflict around the country since all parties will have guarantee responsibility for the mine. Each party will clutch its licenses of a similar property. This is exclusively an error with respect to the Ministry. As of late a wild proprietorship fight emitted in Manicaland where two parties {PAARI Mining Syndicate (PMS) and Twin Castle Resources (TCR)} are battling for the control of the mining Claim in Odzi which falls under Mutare North Constituency. Each part is attempting to oust the other party with the TCR end up being menaces as they are said to be connected to the Mutare

GODFREY MUFURANHEWE DISRUPTED FULL COUNCIL MEETING IN RUSAPE

Image
In compliance with the ministry of Local Government letter signed by its secretary Z. R Churu on the 5th of May 2020, the Rusape Town council started holding its special full council meetings. Sadly on the 3rd of July one of their special full council meeting was disrupted by Godfrey Mufuranhewe aka Joytec and a small group of people who traded fairness with money. This publication has it on good authority that the Town Secretary Mr Gabaza raised the money to spoil whoever was going to participate on the day to disrupt the meeting at paMugodo lodge. Ten people interviewed by this publication confirmed were paid usd$2 by Joytec who guaranteed their security as intelligence Operatives would cover them. Some residents interviewed confirmed they were approached but couldn't take the risk so they refused the offer. This publication also saw members of Intelligence and president's office who include Saunyama on the day in question participating. This might be the reason why members o

Finance, Forensic and Audit experts for Rusape Town

BySimon Wadharwa-Makoni Following the placement of the Rusape Town Council Secretary Mr Solomon Gabaza on forced leave, the Local Government and Public Works Minister, Honourable July Moyo appointed a committee to investigate the allegations that are being levelled against the Town Secretary. This committee is going to be chaired by Ms Dhauramanzi and other members of the committee include Mr Mandeya and Mr Gopoza. This committee was appointed in terms of section 311 of the Urban Councils Act. The minister’s committee is more of Finance, Forensic and Audit except for one guy Mr Gopoza who is more of an administrator. The Makoni DDC Mr Mashindi, who happens to be very close to Mr Gabaza, wrote a letter to the Council Chairman on the same day the council chairperson receives a letter from the Minister but the DDC’s letter was received first. It is being suspected that Mr Mashindi did this in a bid to halt Mr Gabaza's suspension, despite being aware that the investigations which b

SUSPENDED RUSAPE TOWN SECRETARY ENGAGE LAWYER TO FIGHT FOR REINSTATEMENT

This is another episode of the events that unfolds since the day the Rusape Town Secretary, Solomon Gabaza, was sent on forced leave by council Chairperson Cllr Sithole. Word has spread the whole of Rusape town from Monday the 8 th of June that the Town Secretary wrote to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government and National Housing ordering him to quash or set aside the ongoing investigations of the Town Secretary. It is now on record the Town Secretary is taking the Chairperson’s 11 th May action as gesture of animosity, acrimony and bad faith. Through a copy of a letter by his lawyer, Messrs Sengwe of Sengwe Law Chambers, Gabaza is declaring the composition of the investigative committee a legal nullity. This is despite the fact that he is on forced leave with all his benefits hence no prejudice. It is within public knowledge that the Rusape Town Secretary was temporarily suspended pending legal procedures and protocols. So far he has not served the susp

Jenaguru unveils tompstone for late musician

Jenaguru Arts Centre is honouring departed musicians with special tombstones for their contribution to the music industry. The project, which had been shelved for some years due to various challenges, was recently given a new lease of life and late musicians to be honoured in the next few months include Biggie Tembo, Tineyi Chikupo, Chiwoniso Maraire and Robson Banda. Jenaguru Arts Centre director Clive Malunga said there was a long list of artistes whose graves were not in good shape and they wanted to show their respect to the departed singers through erecting admirable tombstones on their graves. Malunga said it had become a common trend to have sad stories about the demise of music legends and Jenaguru wanted to paint a different picture. “It is not a good picture when musicians are portrayed as paupers that cannot have decent resting places. I saw some bad images of graves of our music celebrities and we are trying our best to change the sights. We should assist each other in life

Justice Bere's misconduct hearing starts

Image
SUSPENDED Supreme Court judge Justice Francis Bere is today expected to appear before a tribunal to answer to the charges of misconduct after his last-minute bid to stop the hearing failed yesterday when the High Court found  that the latest attempt to delay the hearing was not an urgent matter. A three-member tribunal led by retired Justice Simbi Mubako will inquire into the judge’s fitness to hold office, after a lawyer accused him of interference in a civil case. He is denying the allegations made against him. Lawyer Mr Itai Ndudzo complained about the interference. Yesterday, the High Court rejected as urgent his latest application in which he was seeking an order allowing him to file his papers within the time he wished, while at the same time staying the tribunal process. Justice Jesta Charewa agreed that Justice Bere had the right to request an expedited hearing of his matter and to challenge the propriety of the process that led to setting up of the tribunal to investigate him,
